Teresa
Principal / Teacher

Teresa qualified from St. Nicolas Montessori with advanced diploma’s in Montessori; 0 - 6 years, 6 – 9 years, and 9 – 12 years: B.A. Montessori Ed.
She worked in a Montessori school for two years before opening Ballinteer Montessori School in 1992. She has also tutored in St. Nicholas at the second level evening course in Montessori studies.
Her other qualifications include a Diploma in Developmental Psychology, a Certificate in Dyslexia, from theory to practice, from The Dyslexic Association of Ireland, a Certificate in co-ordination training and massage for dyslexia, NUI Certificate in Training and Continuing Education.
Teresa has extensive experience in the Montessori philosophy both on a practical and theoretical level. She has been teaching children since 1990 and has also been involved in teacher training in both Childcare and Montessori courses. She tutored FAS Early Childhood Care and Education for the School of Practical Childcare for two years, and was the Montessori tutor for FETAC Level 7 Montessori Teaching Diploma in the College of Progressive Education. Teresa wrote a home study course Art and Craft for Childcare (FETAC) and also briefly worked as a part time tutor for the Montessori Diploma course in Liberty college.
She qualified as a Yoga instructor in 2002 and gives a weekly yoga class to the children in Ballinteer Montessori School.
Juliana
Montessori Assistant Teacher
Julianna qualified from Portobello College with an Advanced Award Fetac Level 6 in Montessori Pedagogy.She also studied the Science of Behaviour and Mind in Trinity College Dept. of Psychology in 2013.
She completed a Child Protection workshop, and is qualified in Paediatric First Aid.
Prior to joining Ballinteer Montessori Julianna worked as a part time Montessori teaching assistant in St Mary's National School Lamb's Cross.
She has organised Spanish workshops for children in Rathmines Library, which included Arts and Craft activities, Music Drama and Dance.

Amanda
Montessori Assistant Teacher
Amand qualified from Portobello college with a Fetac Level Level 6 in Montessori Pedagogy.
Prior to joining Ballinteer Montessori Amanda worked in Sundrive Montessori School (2013) and Park Academy (2014-2017).
Amanda's experience and interest in early childhood care and education, Montessori Pedagogy and creative art has enabled her to develop and enhance the Creative and Textural Programme in our Montessori class.
As a very talented artist, Amanda is aware of the importance of the process in the development of creativity in the pre-school child. The freedom to manipulate different materials in an organic and unstructured way allows for exploration and experimentation. These artistic endeavors and self-directed explorations are not only fun, but educational as well. Art allows children to practice a wide range of skills that are useful not only for life, but also for learning.
Sheilagh
Music Teacher
Sheilagh worked for 15 years as a Music Kindergarten Teacher with chlidren 1- 8 years using the Kodaly approach. She also teaches Ukelele to children aged 8+.
In recent years Sheilagh trained as a drum facillitator under the direction of the very talented Joe Loughlin (The Gathering Storm) and has attended Arthur Hull workshops and many other drum facilitation workshop weekends.
Sheilagh is passionate about music and rythm and brilliant at imparting her passion and love of music to children.
